Q:What is a smallholding?

A:We don’t have any hard and fast rules as to what makes a smallholding. Anything from a large garden where a few chickens are kept to a full scale working farm.

Q:Do I have to live in North Yorkshire to be a member?

A:We have members from all over the north of England and some further afield but people within North Yorkshire will receive the most benefit from membership of the society.

Q:Do I have to work in farming / agriculture?

A:No, our members come from all walks of life. We have vicars and doctors, surgeons and oil rig workers, engineers and housewives.
